JAG Rotax, in conjunction with the Motorsport UK British Kart Championships, is delighted to announce the Micromax World Qualifier at Clay Pigeon Raceway, October 16 – 18 2020. The event will offer drivers the chance to compete for two coveted tickets for the Rotax Grand Finals. The Grand Finals, which will take place in Portimao, Portugal on 23rd – 30th January 2021, is renowned for being one of the best karting events in the world, with the best drivers competing for the World Championship title.

 

The inaugural qualifying event was held last year at Forest Edge and was won by privateer Macauley Bishop, who proceeded to represent the UK at the Grand Finals in Sarno, Italy. At the finals, Bishop achieved the title of 2019 Vice Champion, narrowly missing out on the first-place trophy. The top three drivers at the qualifying event will also get to keep the engines which JAG Rotax will convert to a Minimax spec, free of charge.

 

The Micromax package, complete with race oil, will again be provided by JAG Rotax to competitors at the event. The Micromax engine will fit on any Motorsport UK homologated two-stroke cadet chassis and the team from JAG Rotax will be on hand all weekend to help with any technical questions or installation quires.

 

Entry to the event costs £475.00*. Entry includes your event submission, one set of slick tyres and one set of wet tyres. Engines, oil, and full technical support at the event will be provided by JAG Rotax.

Requirements to enter the competition:

Age requirement: from entrant’s 8th birthday to 31st December of the year of entrant’s 11th birthday.

Licence requirement: Drivers must hold a Motorsport UK National licence

Weight requirement:  Minimum 108kg, including the driver. 29kg minimum driver weight as per U17.29.6
