North East kart track Warden Law will play host to the fourth and final round of the 2021 KZ2 Wera Tools British Kart Championship on 18-19 September.

Following a successful test earlier this week at the Sunderland venue, the 1200 metre long circuit will provide a challenging backdrop for the gearbox category series finale, bringing the total rounds in the class to four during the season.

The ultra-rapid gearbox category kick-starts its season at Shenington at the end of May before moving to Devon and Mansell Raceway in June. The Cumbrian track at Rowrah will house the penultimate round of the championship before moving to Warden Law for the series finale.

“I`m delighted to finally be able to confirm the final round of the KZ2 championship will be held at Warden Law,” said British Kart Championship Manager Dan Parker.

“We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure we can provide a fitting venue for the categories final event and after a recent test at the circuit, we are sure it will be a perfect fit for the KZ2 category. Of course, the track has hosted gearbox karts in the past so we know that it will work well and adding another venue to the KZ2 class roster is very encouraging for the series.”

Reigning KZ2 British Champion Joe Charlton will return to the series again in 2021 and is thrilled by the new addition to the calendar.

“I’m excited to hear a new track is being added to the calendar for 2021. Warden law is a circuit that hasn’t had gearbox karts racing on it for many years” he says.

“I’m sure this will provide a new challenge for everyone and may spring a surprise result for the final round of the championship”.
