The coveted Rotax British Open Championships will make a welcome return to the popular Devon circuit, Mansell Raceway this June [25-26], as contenders in the Mini Max, Junior, Senior and 177 classes fight for the chance to run the prestigious ‘O Plate’.

Run by the Motorsport UK Wera Tools British Kart Championships team, the two-day event will see contenders across the Rotax categories battle it out to be the British Open Champion and win the chance to wear the “O Plate” during their respective championship campaigns.

The 1032 metre circuit, based just outside of Honiton in Devon enjoys a long association with Formula One legend Nigel Mansell CBE and the track features a dynamic mix of technical corners and long straights to promote fantastic battles on track with an abundance of overtaking opportunities: the perfect offering for the Open Championship.

With support from the UK Rotax distributors JAG Rotax including a prize fund offering, contenders will have all the benefits of the British Kart Championships including on-track CCTV, control tyres, timing by Motorsport Timing UK and the event will be streamed online by BKC providers Alpha Live.

With a limited number of entries available, demand is expected to be high, and competitors are urged to enter early. No championship registration is required and entry to the weekend is £215. Entries are now open and are available by clicking [HERE], closing finally on June 15 at 12:00pm.

Dan Parker Motorsport UK Karting Manager is excited to see the British Open Championship event return to the karting calendar.

“The ‘O Plate’ is right up there with the most prestigious titles in karting that every karter wants to win during their career and the Rotax Open Championship is always an exciting and closely fought weekend,” he says.

“The British Kart Championship team is proud to be supporting the meeting once again and we have brought all the ingredients of the BKC to the event which helps ensure a fair and level playing field for all. It will undoubtedly be a fantastic weekend of racing with a great prize fund courtesy of JAG Rotax ”
