There are not many drivers in the Wera Tools British Kart Championships that can claim a race runner-up spot in their debut season, but 2022 Bambio top rookie Ethan McClelland can.

The seven-year-old from Hambleton in Lancashire not only took second place in the Final at Whilton Mill, but also did enough to finish fourth overall in the standings. Impressive stuff!

Starring out at the age of five, Ethan began his career sharing a kart with good friend and 2022 champion Riley Murro, before progressing into the BKC. And despite a frustrating start, it’s been a stellar season, which saw a rapid progression of pace during his campaign to enable him to battle towards the front of the pack.

There was determination from the entire McClelland camp too, with Dad Neil helping Ethan to battle on and continue learning his racecraft to build for the future.

A return to the BKC is likely in 2023 but seeing progression into the new Micro Max category and we can’t wait to see how Ethan performs.
