The Motorsport UK Wera Tools British Kart Championships will make the trip across the Scottish Border this weekend [3-5 June] as Larkhall Circuit near Glasgow plays host to the fourth event in the calendar.
Counting as the second round of the season for the Rotax and Honda classes, the undulating, technical yet rapid 1140 metre circuit is enjoyed by many across the categories and will see over 165 drivers take to the track this weekend.
With just one round under their belt this season, PF International kicked off the championship for the Rotax Mini Max, Junior and Senior classes as well as the Honda Cadet category. As predicted, the racing was a scintillating affair with the race to get an early march in the points standings.
Now, contenders will make the trip to Scotland to resume their fight for supremacy in Britain’s premier karting series. Friday hosts Practice, with Saturday seeing the Timed Qualifying Simulation, Timed Qualifying and the Heats take place. Sunday houses the Pre-Final and all-important Finals.
Spectators are welcome to watch the action trackside, but for those unable to attend in person, series broadcast partners Alpha Live will once again be providing unrivalled coverage from the weekend with paddock news and race day coverage on the dedicated BKC Live page [HERE].
CLASSES
MINI MAX
Bumper grids are once again aligned for an action-packed weekend in Mini Max. Scott Marsh [DHR] was the star performer at PFi, taking second in qualifying, his heat and the pre-final before taking the final win. His performances mean he heads north with a 13-point advantage over Harry Bartle [Croc Promotion].
Noah Wolfe [Synergy Racing Developments] took the final podium place at PFI on his Mini Max BKC debut and is equal second in the championship whilst Sebastian Minns [KR-Sport] is five points adrift in fourth. Sam Pollitt Racing’s Finn Leslie rounds out the top five heading to Larkhall but is just one point shy of Minns.
It’s early in the season, but the battle will be on for a maximum point haul.

JUNIOR ROTAX
An impressive 56 progressive karters will line up on the Junior Rotax grids, once again meaning Repechage will come into play on Saturday after the Heats have been completed. Top scorer at PFI, Harry Burgoyne Jnr enjoyed a triplet of 65 points with combined heats, pre-finals and Finals victory. The Strawberry Racing ace was on fine form, but will have to work hard to maintain the momentum at Larkhall.
Harry Linden [DHR] has some ground to make up across the border, nine points behind the leader but has a seven point cushion to the chasing Vinnie Phillips [Strawberry Racing] in third. Despite lining up sixth on the grid in the PFi final, Brandon Carr [KR-Sport] made his way onto the podium in third last time out and sits fourth in the series, with Coles Racing’s Reg Heywood rounding out the top five.

SENIOR ROTAX
The super-quick PFi circuit was a perfect opener for the Senior’s season and it’s the No.25 kart of Callum Bradshaw who currently leads the series with Strawberry Racing. The PFi Finals win ensured he heads to Larkhall with an eight-point margin over Sean Butcher [KR-Sport] although Butcher was hot on his heels all race long.
Caden McQueen [ Zip Factory Team] is third, replicating his Finals finishing position at PFi with Sam Gornall [Coles Racing] fourth after a difficult meeting. Guy Cunnington [Strawberry Racing] rounds out the top five.

HONDA CADET
Synergy Racing Developments’ Cole Denholm enjoyed the perfect score at PFi to edge out a healthy 12-point lead over Albert Friend [SFR Motorsport] after the season opener.
Kenzo Craigie [Ambition Motorsport] and Max Cuthburt [SFR Motorsport] share third spot a further five points back from Friend with Jarrett Clark [Synergy] a further one behind in fifth. Racing at PFi was an intense affair with some fantastic racing from the youngsters which is set to continue in Scotland this weekend.
