For a second weekend in a row, the Wera Tool Rebels British Kart Championship head to PF International as the Rotax and Honda Classes round out their season at the circuit.
As witnessed during last weekend’s encounter you can expect an action-packed weekend of racing thanks to the International ‘A’ Grade Track offering up 1382m of impressive track for Britain’s premier karters to enjoy. With titles in each class going down to the wire, Sunday’s finals are set to provide a thrilling curtain call on an impressive season in the BKC which has enjoyed bumper entries across each category.
Both Rotax and Honda classes will run to the well-known standard timetable this weekend with practice and qualifying on Saturday with a heat in the late afternoon. Sunday will hold the remainder of the heats, Pre-Finals and Grand Finals in which the 2021 winners will be crowned. The drivers will be hoping for the fine weather from last weekend to carry over, with bright sunshine and cool conditions giving the optimum performance for tyre grip and engine performance!
As with all our championship events this year, the action from Sunday will be shown live on the British Kart Championship’s Facebook page and new for 2021, the popular Motorsport.TV platform. As well as the racing, paddock news, features and updates, the coverage will offer the perfect way to view the action, as it unfolds during the day along with our ever popular paddock shows in the evening across social media.
Honda Cadet
Timo Jungling (SFR Motorsport) comes into PFI with the highest points tally currently on 721 points closely chased by Ambition Motorsport’s Joshua Graham on 719. In third a further 29 points behind is Synergy Race Team’s Noah Wolfe. Holding the current GP, PF and O plates plus racing last weekend in IAME Cadet at PFI puts him to the front of the pack knowledge wise. It’s going to be a close race for the title with a final race dash a likely outcome for the newly crowned champion.
Minimax
Minimax has been a hotly contested series once again in 2021 with several drivers sharing the spoils. Consistently at the front, Ethan Jeff-Hall (Strawberry Racing), looks to continue the team’s tradition of embracing champions as he sits at the top of the championship table. Scott Marsh from DHR sits in second, 43 points behind Jeff-Hall on 753 points with Argenti Motorsport’s Ewan Charman in third on 748. Drop scores will come into play here at PFI with all drivers looking for a perfect weekend and it will be game-on from practice as the drivers look to find every tenth possible in their favour.
Junior Rotax
Three British Championship rookies lead the way in Junior Rotax as Strawberry Racing’s Leon Henderson sits at the top of the table on 742 points. Neo Clarke (Tooley Motorsport) and Olly Stevens (DHR) sit in second and third respectively. In fourth, with an outside chance of the title is Argenti Motorsport’s Daniel Guinchard. While he has some ground to cover, Guinchard took the IAME Junior X30 title last weekend at PFi with a win on Saturday and third place on the Sunday. Junior Rotax has been filled with close on track battles all year, and with PFi being notoriously hard to break away from the following pack, positions both in the race and championship could well change corner by corner.
Senior Rotax
It’s never over till it’s over in any motorsport discipline and Senior Rotax is the perfect example of that in 2021. Any one of five drivers could walk away with the title this weekend. The brothers of Kai (770 points) and Rhys Hunter (761 points) lead the way, both from the DHR outfit, with Sean Butcher (KR-Sport) and Lewis Gilbert (Potenza Racing Engines) closely following behind on 752 and 731 points respectively. Matthew Higgins, DHR, trails slightly on 722 and will need a perfect weekend if he is to take the title.
Rotax 177
Strawberry Racing’s Daniel Tate sits in prime position at the top of the table on 794 points in Rotax 177. Whilst the grid has been smaller, the competition has been just a fierce. Currently sitting just 13 pints behind Tate, and joint second place is Louis Large (Coles Racing) and Matthew Easton (KR-Sport). While only 9 karts sit on the grid this weekend, you’ll need to watch intently as this will be one of the closest battles all weekend. A win will be vital for these drivers in securing top spot in the standings.
