Each week we are speaking to our 2019 Champions and ask them some all important questions to see what makes them tick.

Next up is 2019 Honda Cadet Top Privateer – Callie Clifford

How did you get started in the sport?

When I was 3, I did some Bambino laps at Bayford Meadows training track and when I turned 4 Ambition Motorsports Josh coached me on exclusive use of the main track.

What was the highlight of your Privateer title winning year?

My highlights were, opening the season at PFi with a fastest sector 1 in heat 3. Finishing as top privateer in rounds three, four, seven, eight, nine, eleven & twelve. Ending the season at Whilton Mill having my engines Parc Ferme for the whole weekend as I was in the top 20 and also making the A final in every round.

What was your low point last season?

Fulbeck was a very difficult track to get the set up correct so we struggled for the whole weekend. The Red flag end to the 2nd final at Shenington was a low point too.

Why do you enjoy competing in Karting and the BKC?

I enjoy working my way through the field.

What’s your favourite circuit?

Shenington, where I got my highest points in the BKC for the season and I also won the top Lady Driver 2018 for the club. Also, PFi, where I won the clubs Spring Special in 2019.

When we do get underway, what are your hopes for the new season?

I just hope we get through the coronavirus issue all healthy and well.

Due to the delayed start to the season what are you planning on doing with this unexpected time off from racing?

I have been keeping my fitness up.

We wish Callie and everyone in the BKC well. Stay safe and look after each other. We will be back in action before you know it #StayOnTrack
