After the success and excitement of last weekend’s return of the British Kart Championships, all eyes will be on the Rotax and Honda classes at Lydd this weekend (21 – 23 August). The Kent-based track will host the second instalment of the championships but the first round of competition for the Rotax and Honda classes following the break due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The event will see almost 170 drivers across five classes compete for the top step of the podium and gain the all-important championship points to kick-start their championship campaigns. With multiple 2019 championship winners and familiar names returning to the track this weekend, it’s promising to be an exciting event with comprehensive LIVE coverage on the BKC and Motorsport UK Facebook pages.

MiniMax 2019 winner Archie Kitching and runners up Sam Gornall and Tristan Rennie will be competing for their place on the podium in the Junior Rotax class this year. Finn Smith might be the one to watch this weekend as he returns to the Minimax class for 2020 hoping to improve on his result of 20th place in 2019.

Junior Rotax 2019 winner Kai Hunter is back to make a good impression on the huge grid of 53 in the Senior Max class. Hunter will also be taking on some of his rivals from last year’s Junior Rotax line up, including runners up Tom Adams and William Elmswood.

11 drivers make up the Rotax 177 grid at Lydd this weekend and it promises to be a spectacle for all watching with notable competitors returning to the class from 2019.

The Honda Cadet class will also be competing this weekend. Over 35 drivers will make up the field including last year’s third and fourth placed drivers Conor Duncan and Zac Drummond.

All the action with commentary will be available live on the British Kart Championships  and Motorsport UK Facebook page with LIVE timing also available through the website britishkartchampionships.org
